Play + highlights = Playlights
My site, so I go first...
Can I first say that my happiest moments have been when there's been at least some degree of play involved.
#2. When I won the 1995 World Championships in freestyle frisbee there was absolutely no pressure; I hadn't competed in freestyle in 10 years.
Brian (my freestyle partner) and I were just so happy to be there. We proved that the saying
"the one who has the most fun wins" is for real and not just a silly expression.
#1. When I married the love of my life in 2007 we planned a wedding that featured mimes, toys, dancing, masked artists, flags, flute playing. Our community all came together to decorate and cook and take photos and so much more Go ahead and see for yourself!
These are collages of play on the happiest day of my life!
Each time that I've been to TOYFAIR (6 and counting) I've found new items to play with (play + technology = playnology) and the truth is that unless there's play there's no play. Do all the toy makers understand the principles of play? I don't really think so but the ones who do keep inventing great new playware! And some of the salespeople need to make some time to play! I mentioned flarble a few pages back; love it! And of course my friends at Saturnian1!
"Play has been very, very good to me" to quote a famous Saturday Night Live sketch (sorta) and I believe the game has just begun as I open the doors to new play in new ways.
